What is Distance Education or Distance learning at a Canadian University?
Distance Education is taking a course or learning a particular subject through the internet or by mail.
Traditionally Canadian Universities teach through lecturing a large number of students; however the internet is changing the way courses are taught. Canadian Universities are always pushing for innovation, change and embrace new technologies when they become feasible.
Distance education allows students to work fulltime and learn on their spare time and on their own speed. It is a perfect tool for those who want to upgrade their skills or make a career change.
Distance education is not for everyone and it does have its drawbacks. For example, you will have to do the work alone and you won’t have the same level of interaction with the professor and other students. You must disciplined and self driven to complete the courses and figure out the problems on your own.
